Deportation Defense

We represent clients in immigration court who are facing deportation. We assist clients in seeking relief from deportation through applications such as asylum, cancellation of removal, adjustment of status, waivers, and other applications.

Over the past two decades, Amanda Gray has successfully represented clients before a wide range of immigration judges and immigration courts. Her vast experience allows her to develop strong, individualized legal strategies aimed at achieving the best possible outcome in each case. She advocates zealously for her clients in both immigration and appellate courts.

Asylum, Humanitarian Relief & Survivor-Based Immigration

Individuals who fear returning to their home country may qualify for protection in the United States through asylum or other forms of humanitarian relief. Eligibility for asylum may be based on persecution or fear of persecution due to race, religion, nationality, political opinion, gender, sexual orientation, or membership in a particular social group.

We handle both affirmative asylum applications before USCIS and defensive asylum cases in Immigration Court.

We also represent survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and other serious crimes in applications for U visas, T visas, and protection under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). We understand that discussing traumatic experiences can be difficult, and we approach every case with compassion, sensitivity, and respect.

Family-Based Immigration

Amanda Gray Immigration Lawyer

Family-based immigration is one of the most common pathways to lawful permanent residence in the United States. We assist U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents in petitioning for eligible family members both abroad and within the United States.

Our firm carefully prepares all applications to ensure compliance with current immigration laws and policies while making the process as smooth and understandable as possible for our clients.

Immigration Consequences of Criminal Matters

Amanda Gray has over 20 years of counseling noncitizens and lawyers on the immigration consequences of criminal convictions and alleged criminal conduct. Criminal charges, arrests, and convictions can have serious immigration consequences. Amanda advises clients — and, when appropriate, their criminal defense attorneys — regarding the immigration impact of arrests, charges, plea agreements, convictions, and periods of incarceration. Her goal is to help clients understand and minimize immigration risks associated with criminal proceedings.

Citizenship & Naturalization

Becoming a United States citizen provides important rights and protections, including the right to vote, the ability to travel freely and remain outside the United States without jeopardizing status, and the opportunity to petition for certain family members to obtain lawful permanent residence.

We guide clients through every step of the naturalization process before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), from preparing and filing the application to interview preparation and final decision. Our firm is committed to ensuring that clients are fully prepared and supported throughout the process.

Appeals, Motions & Federal Litigation

Amanda Gray represents noncitizens before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) in appeals, motions to reopen, and motions to reconsider. She also represents clients in U.S. district courts in various actions including mandamus actions, petitions for review of denials of naturalization applications, and habeas petitions. In the U.S. courts of appeals, she represents clients in petitions for review of final orders of removal. Amanda Gray often secures relief for clients without the need for prolonged litigation.
